...begins and the aforementioned summer wardrobe panic sets in. Somehow, with human nature at the reigns, it snowballs (or should I say tumbleweeds?) and I find myself wanting to consign it all and start over. Not rational. For example - this is theoretically lovely:
The problem is me not the duds.
Can I consign myself and start over?

We should have a clothes swap. All the girls nearby of mostly equal size should label their stuff, bring what they are tired of and swap for a few months (just like college). I'm happy to pull out my summer stuff and let you pick things to borrow for the summer. I'm clearly not going to be using them for a while. And if on the off chance you have something billowy that I could use, I'd take it for a while, being careful not to let you see me in it so that it wouldn't be labeled "maternity" in your head when you got it back!
Funny Lisa.
Sarah, that stuff is really stinkin' cute. I suppose you could consign it, but every time I see them on you I will compliment you. So there you have my non-advice on what you should do.
At least none of you feel constrained to wear long sleeves and a tie to work in the 200% humidity we're experiencing here with an air conditioner that doesn't seem to be working.
I have the same wardrobe boredom. Blah blah bland. My bigger issue is that I never really get to wear my clothes, since it's black-for-boring-Starbucks-yuppie-pleasing-dress-code everyday, and I look at my clothes, and think about moving them again, and think, "What's the point?" I want to purge every thread, except for my forties velvet dress and hat, of course. But every other thread.
Then I think about risk avoidance: I'll need non-black clothes at some point; those fit; I don't want to spend money on clothes later, when I do need non-black clothes. Better keep 'em.
Then the challenge of making something new from something old excites me. How can I reconfigure this wardrobe to feel fresh? More interesting? It turns into a game. New clothes are not on the Barista Budget Plan, and my stuff is always turned away by our local Trendier-Than-Thou Exchange. So I take up the challenge. Maybe the game would help you...
these are lovely.
This is Jon...I just read about avacado ice cream... I think we should have it for your birthday. It sounds delicious. I am up for the challenge and adventure.
Lisa- you so sweetly forget that none of the girls around are your size (pre-belly). We could try...
Billi - I am working on re-imagining, I added trim to a skirt the other day and I have other ideas for 'Anthropologizing' items with cheap ribbons and felt flowers and such.
Jon - thank you for supporting my crazy whims, you make the avocado and I'll make the sweet corn ice cream. My guess is there will be plenty of left overs for us.
